Faroe Islands

The Faroe Islands are a small group of eighteen volcanic islands located in the North Atlantic Ocean, roughly halfway between Scotland and Iceland. Though remote and sparsely populated, they form a self-governing territory within the Kingdom of Denmark, with their own parliament, language, and distinct cultural identity. The landscape is dramatic and rugged, characterized by steep cliffs, deep fjords, rolling green hillsides dotted with grass-roofed houses, and a cool, windy maritime climate that keeps the islands cloaked in mist for much of the year.
